Trouble Sleeping When Pregnant

If you are pregnant and having trouble sleeping, you are not alone. It’s a very common thing to experience. In the early days of pregnancy a womans body goes through many changes. This can have adverse effects on her sense of well being and lead to nausea and fatigue. These symptoms are known as morning sickness. The name morning sickness implies that it only happens in the morning, but this is not true. A pregnant lady can also get morning sickness at night.

Because it is a very unpleasant feeling, remedies have been developed to lessen the effects of morning sickness. You can get special pills and drinks which give the body much needed nutrients to help dampen the bad symptoms, but stopping morning sickness completely is not possible. Time is all it takes for the effects of morning sickness to start wearing away. During the mid term of pregnancy a womans body has adapted to cope with the demands her unborn baby has put on it. By the later stages, these demands become more intense and those feelings of fatigue will eventually return. At this later stage though, there won’t be long until the birth happens so bodily discomfort will soon come to an end and all that will be left will be those sleepless nights to endure once your baby is born.

Sleep is essential for health and growth. Sleep apnea should not be ignored as this condition leads to reduced oxygen levels in the blood stream and can cause or aggravate numerous health problems. Restless leg syndrome
Some of the lesser known of sleep disorder symptoms is the irresistible desire to constantly move ones arms or legs while in mattress . This could be because of discomfort caused by tingly, uncomfortable creeping sensations in the leg while lying down causing lack of sleep . Called the Restless Leg Syndrome, this sleep disorder can be related to anemia, alcoholism, thyroid problems, Parkinson’s illness , and kidney problems.
