REMstar Pro CPAP Machine – Treating Sleep Apnea

There’s a bodily condition called sleep apnea that disrupts a person’s breathing during sleep. You may have heard of it by it’s full name, which is ‘Obstructive Sleep Apnea’. Basically, the muscles in the airway relax during sleep, restricting the flow of air both in and out of the lungs.

As a result, the person is no longer able to receive the oxygen they need, so their body signals for them to awake. In fact, some people cease to breathe altogether for minutes at a time, which is clearly dangerous.

For this reason, many sleep apnea sufferers use what’s called a “Continuous Positive Airway Pressure” system to improve their sleep, like the REMstar Pro CPAP machine.

Australia was the first place to start using them in 1981, and since then cpap systems went from being found primarily in nursing homes and hospitals, to the comfort of people’s homes all over the world. They work by providing compressed air to a face mask, so that a person’s airways stay open and no longer become totally obstructed.

Just to emphasize, it’s actually the air pressure – and not the flow of air – that helps the sleep apnea sufferer. For this reason, it’s crucial that both the mask fits the face properly, and also that the machine will operate without fault. And something like the Respironics REMstar Pro CPAP machine certainly ticks all the boxes.

First of all, the REMstar Pro is compatible with a very broad span of face masks; far more than other cpap devices. And some extra features give it an even greater advantage. A Humidity Control system is the first of it’s kind to actually measure and adjust to outside air humidity levels, and thereby minimize condensation in the mask and hose.

Then C-Flex Plus technology takes this a stage further by actually monitoring every single breath a wearer takes, and then adjusting the air pressure with every single outward breath to make using the machine even easier.

Evidently, CPAP machines have made a significant contribution to people suffering from obstructive sleep apnea, and the REMstar Pro CPAP is a clear example of what the best of these devices can do.
