So you find constantly saying I want to get rid of my nightmares.Nightmares can haunt anyone. Stress, depression and anxiety can lead to bad dreams. If a person’s daily routine harbors lots of difficult task and tension than they may be the perfect candidate for bad dreams. There is help available but in order to put an end to the issue, it must first be identified. At times changing your sleeping habits will help, as well as therapy and as a last resort medication.
If there are things in your life that is causing depression and stress than more than likely you will experience nightmares. A nightmare once in a while is normal but when it becomes a reoccurring event on daily basis then there is a reason to raise alarm. When sleeping at night the brain continues to work and although you are asleep, you are still thinking! This is the reason why nightmares occur. Nightmares can bring upon many different emotions, guilt, anger and sadness. Sometimes traumatic events that have taken place in the past find a way to renter our lives through our dreams resulting in a nightmare. Being able to identify what it is that is upsetting you is a must and dealing with that issue will help put an end to your sleepless nights. Not only can situations in an individual’s life feed nightmares but some medications could have side effects that lead to this problem as well.
It would be a good idea to research your sleeping habits. Maybe the position you are sleeping you can be a reason as to why you could be experiencing nightmares. Also, if large portions of caffeine are in someone’s diet it can be the leading cause of bad dreams. Caffeine give the body energy and at the end of the day once that boost of power has left our system our body begins to slow down causing fatigue and fatigue sets off nightmares. Having heavy meals before bed is also going to bring about an unhappy night! As mentioned before, the brain continues to function way after we have put ourselves down to rest and when food is in the system it works ten times harder trying to break down what is in our stomach, so changing what you do before you sleep is a great way in reducing this crisis.

This system contains a client reliving the nightmare but in a non-sleeping way, in other words they are awake. Taking control over the nightmare has positive effects when one is alert.
Medications can also be an option, but they must be prescribed by a licensed practionar. There aren’t many medications offered for putting an end to nightmares but the few that have been used such as, topiramate, nefazodone, and gabapentin, and the findings have been quite satisfying. These medicines are usually prescribed for PTSD (POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER).
You can get rid of my nightmares! There is never an easy way to confront sensitive issues that may currently be burdening you or that have traumatized you but there is help available. Nightmares can be put to an end and there are many different ways to deal with the situation whether you chose to do it alone or with the help of a family member, friend or healthcare professional, a good night’s rest is only a blink away because everyone deserves sweet dreams.
